Chunky baby blanket (and scarf)
I found this great tutorial for a chunky crochet baby blanket from House of Esperanza – and as a new arrival was due in our friends’ family, the opportunity to try it presented itself shortly! I briefly considered using different colours but yellow remains my strong favourite and mixing it with grey (and white) cannot go wrong.
Then Mr. Rabbit arrived, lovingly created by Misie, Królisie i Przyjaciele (you wouldn’t believe how beautifully done and otherwordly soft he was, their work needs to be seen – and touched – to be truly appreciated!). Mr. Rabbit got wrapped tightly in the new blanket and I do hope both gave some joy to a certain little boy (and his mum)!
Also, did I mention yellow is my favourite? I really did like the mix of colours here and chunkiness of the final piece. I also got myself a yellow winter jacket. And I happen to have a soft spot for oversized scarfs… This could have ended only one way. Yes, a chunky, oversized, yellow scarf! I used the same single-crochet technique but this time, to get a bit of texture, I worked only through back loops rather than top of stitch.
