Halloween!
I did carve (well.. drill) a little pumpkin this year but I also wanted one that will not get soft / mouldy too quickly. I found pumpkin crochet pattern from OlinoHobby on Etsy and used chunky yarn (Stylecraft Special DK Spice 1711 – I love its colour and no photos can do it justice, depending on the light it takes various shades and all of them are lovely). Also, I wanted my pumpkin to be extra large, basically 1:1 in scale, so I crocheted with two strands of yarn (and hook size L/8mm).
It was so easy to make! So obviously I couldn’t stop there… and smaller pumpkins were created (this time with just one strand and hook size G/4mm). From one pumpkin adoring the fireplace I quickly went to four, then got some blue-violet lights from Penneys, then needed a small crate to prop all that stuff up, then went for a walk and the beautiful autumn leaves were just everywhere… Needles to say I ended up with a pile of decorations rather than one pumpkin!
